We are an independent insulation distributor and manufacturer with over 35 years experience in the Construction and Agricultural industry. Based centrally in the East Midlands we cover the whole of the UK and Ireland.
Green Footprint Solutions promote and advise on the specification of thermal insulation products, in new and refurbished buildings. As buildings are responsible for over 43% of carbon emissions in the UK our aim is to reduce CO2 emissions and improve energy efficiency using sustainable building products.

We specialise in the manufacture of GFS Li board which consists of a reinforced cement top on an extruded polystyrene board. It is available in thicknesses between 40 – 140mm insulation excluding the 10mm topping, suitable for inverted roofs and upstands.

The Extruded Polystyrene we promote has a GWP of less than 5. This is the requirement for BREEAM specifications. Which is being adopted for constructions on all Health, Education, Local and Government Authorities, Sheltered and Social housing.
The blowing agent used in Styrodur and Gematherm is Co2 which gives a GWP (Global Warming Potential ) of 1 ( One ). This CO2 is taken from the environment or as a bi product from other manufacturing processors. Other blowing agents used by other manufacturers give the following GWP.
Expanded Polystyrene, both standard grade and Graphite has a GWP 0 ( Zero )
Natural Insulation materials like Hotatex ( Wood based ) are not blown and are manufactured using energy that is self supporting. Self supporting means that a proportion of raw material is used to dry the wood and also to generate electricity, which in turn is used to power the plant.
